Italy 1,000 Lire (1982)

Front: Marco Polo; an ornamental background motif reproducing a 15th-century Venetian tapestry design, with foliage, birds and dragons

Back: Dodge's Palace in Venice (Venezia)

The fixed-point watermark on the left consists of three elements: on the left, the same head of Marco Polo; immediately below it, in ligne claire, the "BI" monogram between ornamental motifs; to the right, chiaroscuro reproductions of five trapezoidal figures with the smaller base upwards, irregularly spaced along a horizontal line.
