Central African States 500 Francs (2002)

The Bank of Central African States (French: Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale or BEAC) is a central bank that serves six central African countries which form the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Republic of the Congo.

Central African States notes have a code letter indicating the initial country of issue.

From 1993 to 2002 these code letters were as follows: E=Cameroon; F=Central African Republic; P=Chad; C=Congo; N=Equatorial Guinea; L=Gabon.

From 2002 to present these code letters are as follows: U=Cameroon; M=Central African Republic; C=Chad; T=Congo; F=Equatorial Guinea; A=Gabon.
